A lot of women in this day and age that we live in get discouraged by staying at home and not being in the work force. Society has made it seem “old fashioned” and undesirable to be classified as a “stay at home” or “work at home” mom. This is a sad fact because history proves that kids got into a lot less trouble when mom was at home after school watching and monitoring their activities!

Some women even mistakenly view themselves as less important than their spouses because they don’t work outside the home but work at home.I believe this poor opinion comes from years of liberal views being piped into our homes through television, radio, magazines, etc. However, God says in I Timothy 5:14, “I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house…” He also says in Proverbs 14:1 “Every wise woman buildeth her house…” If God Himself says that it’s wise for a woman to be at home then I think we can and should throw out what the world is trying to make us believe.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that a woman shouldn’t work outside the home. As I said before, it’s hard surviving in the world today without the advantage of two incomes. What I am saying is that if you chose to be a stay at home mom and work at home or if you are trying to follow a career path that allows you to work from home, embrace it and be confident in the fact that you are fulfilling the role God gave you. Forget the message the world is trying to make you believe!

While you are at home, wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to work from home and bring money into your families’ budget? I mentioned before some of the benefits of being a work at home Christian mom but the list really goes on and on. The benefit list increases drastically if you have children at home. It is at best discouraging if you don’t have a degree in a field that allows for this. Painstakingly you look through the classifieds week after week looking for something to supplement your income that wouldn’t take you away from the home too many days a week or not at all.

We have all seen the advertisements, “Work for stay at home moms,work at home moms, no degree required, $10.00 per hour to start.” The problem with these companies that advertise this way is that they don’t give you all the details up front. Sure it sounds good but is it for real? Probably not. If you have ever tried to call one of these numbers for a company that advertises this way, you usually find that they have something that they are trying to sell you. Whether it is a program that is needed for your computer in order that you can actually do the job you are applying for or it is a ridiculous start up fee to get you started on your own career. Don’t fall for it! If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is!
